An exceptional opportunity is available for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to undertake the role of Clinical Nurse Educator and join the hospital's Education team within the Perioperative Suite. This role is permanent and part-time and provides a great platform for future leadership positions at a private hospital in Sydney.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Clinical Nurse Educator, your responsibilities will include:

• Orienting, inducting and briefing new staff/Graduates/students to the facility and their roles and responsibilities during the clinical placement;
• Ensuring the safety of patients/consumers and staff through the maintenance of safe practice;
• Assisting Graduates and staff to apply problem-solving and reflective skills in their clinical practice;
• Identifying the learning needs of the staff within the specialty;
• Demonstrating clinical expertise and professional role modelling;
• Promoting a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to all patients, through dissemination of current best practice knowledge;
• Supervising staff compliance to annual mandatory training and completion of eLearning components;
• Providing written reports for Graduate Nurses;
• Conducting Continuing Professional Development sessions;
• Liaising with the Education Services Department.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA;
• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent;
• Certificate 4 in training and assessment or working towards;
• Minimum 3 years post-graduate experience;
• High-level clinical skills and proven experience in primary area of practice;
• Excellent communication skills and a high degree of computer literacy;
• Being motivated and able to work independently;
• Accountability for own performance and behaviour;
• Relevant post graduate qualifications in the area of specialty or working towards.

REMUNERATION $52.45 - $54.18 per hour.

ABOUT THE FACILITY The hospital, located in Sydney's North West, is a busy 277-bed high acuity facility. The Operating Theatre complex has 16 theatres, 32 first-stage recovery bays, as well as an additional 32 second-stage chairs. Specialties of the hospital include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Robotics, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology and Vascular surgery.
