Job Finance Officer. Remote, Sydney

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join a growing financial services team, supporting core finance operations across multiple business entities. This hands-on role involves daily financial processing, transactional banking activities, and management of accounts payable and client fund disbursements. Our client is based in Sydney's CBD, close to multiple public transport links, and can offer 1 day WFH per week after training.

Key Responsibilities:

Banking & Transaction Processing

• Import and reconcile daily bank feeds across several institutions
• Maintain current exchange rates for financial transactions
• Execute and manage internal bank transfers across a multi-bank network
• Apply incoming EFT payments against client accounts accurately
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly
• Oversee accounts payable functions, including vendor payments and credit card reconciliations

• Process various client disbursements, including real-time and batch payments (e.g., FAST/RTGS, ABA)
• Finalise domestic transactions for trade finance clients
• Coordinate and process FX conversions through partnered currency providers
• Handle both domestic and foreign currency payments on proprietary finance platforms
• Manage third-party transactions, including reimbursements and FX-related transfers

• Perform daily direct debit runs and manage end-of-day settlements
• Respond to bounced debit transactions and work with internal teams to resolve issues
• Address ad hoc payable requests and ensure timely processing

• Actively manage the finance operations inbox and collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Handle administrative tasks such as account opening/closure and platform maintenance
• Conduct monthly interest rate and data updates across systems
• Prepare custom financial reports and assist with data requests as needed

• Proven experience in financial operations, transactional banking, or accounting support roles performing both AP & AR
• Experience within the financial services sector is highly regarded
• Knowledge on foreign exchange is highly regarded
• A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Ability to juggle competing priorities and work well under pressure
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
• Confidence in using Excel and Accounting systems
