About the Role
The Senior Financial Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting the Group Reporting Manager and Group Finance Manager with reconciliation for balance sheet accounts and audit support.
This is an initial 8 week fixed term contract with the possibility of extension. Please note you must have full work rights for Australia for this role
Sydney based only - Immediate start required
Responsibilities
Prepare and verify accrued revenues & advance liabilities (contract assets/contract liabilities) by individual project, ensuring alignment with underlying records.
Prepare and verify pass-through costs and float liabilities by individual project, ensuring accuracy to the underlying records (customer and supplier invoices).
Assisting readiness of information requested by the external auditors including preparation of reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
Collate audit samples from across the business. Coordinating with other lines of business to ensure timely and complete submissions.
Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts.
Working with the broader finance team to identify process improvements and updating or developing formalised accounting policies and standard operating procedures as required.
Assist with the creation of the narrative/flowchart of the business process
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business/Commerce
Holder or in progress of Chartered Accountancy or Certified Practising Accountant qualification.
Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a financial/accounting reporting role or big 4/mid-tier audit experience.
Proficient with the accounts reconciliation process including compiling underlying information from accounting and other systems and analysing reconciling items.
Proficient with full set financial statements disclosure under IFRS.
