This full-time permanent position will be based in the Chatswood, Sydney office and reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel. You will be an integral player in supporting our business to make commercially savvy and compliant decisions. The role involves reviewing marketing and advertising materials, advising on trade promotions, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and supporting the business with Australian Consumer Law and regulatory matters. It's a mix of legal advisory, contract work, and stakeholder collaboration — ideal for someone who can balance legal precision with commercial practicality in a fast-paced in-house environment.
First things first, check out what is on offer!

* Competitive base + super + bonus.
* Work life balance – 9 day (compressed hours) working fortnight with full time pay. Yes, that's a long weekend every fortnight!
* Offering a hybrid work model – 2 days WFH and 3 days Office. (Tue, Wed, Thurs).
* Fantastic Chatswood office location close to shops, public transport, restaurants, gyms and more!
* Fantastic discount on cruises, onboard product launches, airline, and Hotel discounts through our partners.
* Click to see more benefits!

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

* Reviewing and approving marketing and advertising materials to ensure compliance with internal policies and the Australian Consumer Law
* Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, procurement, and sponsorship contracts
* Drafting trade promotion terms and conditions, including supplementary agreements where the business acts as promoter and/or prize supplier
* Supporting the legal team in delivering training and guidance to the business on Australian Consumer Law and other relevant legal topics
* Providing timely, practical legal and regulatory advice across consumer law, travel and maritime regulations
* Preparing clear legal reports and summaries related to contracts, marketing, and ongoing legal projects
* Managing legal matters independently while maintaining excellent record keeping and deadline awareness
* Collaborating with key stakeholders to provide commercially pragmatic legal solutions

About You:
You are a confident legal advisor with a solid grounding in commercial law, marketing compliance, and consumer protection. You have a practical mindset and work well with cross-functional teams to balance risk and business outcomes. Your communication is clear, your drafting is sharp, and your ability to manage competing deadlines without compromising quality sets you apart. You take initiative, adapt quickly, and thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry. You understand the importance of professionalism, collaboration and clear stakeholder communication — and you're ready to dive into a dynamic, purpose-driven environment.
To be successful in the role, you will have demonstrated:

* 3–5 years of legal experience (in-house or private practice), ideally within commercial, marketing, or consumer law
* Strong working knowledge of Australian Consumer Law and statutory interpretation
* Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and trade promotion terms
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Strong time management, analytical, and organisational abilities
* High attention to detail with a proactive, self-driven approach
* Capability to work independently and collaboratively across legal and commercial teams
* A current Unsupervised Practising Certificate in Australia

Desirable:

* Experience in a regulated or travel-related industry
* Background in privacy law or regulatory compliance
* Familiarity with legal tech and digital tools (e.g. redlining, Microsoft Office Suite)
* Interest in cruise or tourism industries
