Tax Manager — 6 Month Contract Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Tax Manager for a 6-month contract to support their Australian entities with expert tax compliance, advisory, and reporting. About the Role
As Tax Manager, you will be an integral part of the tax team, working closely with senior leadership and other specialists to ensure accurate tax compliance and provide practical, timely advice. You’ll take ownership of direct tax obligations, assist with complex tax projects, and play a key role in managing relationships with tax authorities.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and deliver direct tax compliance for multiple Australian business units, including income tax returns and tax effect accounting
• Provide clear and practical tax advice on income tax, indirect tax, international tax, and M&A transactions
• Assist with reviews, audits, and disputes involving the Australian Taxation Office and state revenue authorities
• Support broader tax initiatives and contribute to ad hoc projects within the tax function
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth tax processes and compliance deadlines are met

Who You Are:
You bring a strong technical foundation in corporate tax and a commercial mindset that allows you to solve complex business challenges with practical tax solutions. You thrive working independently and as part of a team in a fast-moving environment.

• CA or CPA qualified with substantial experience in Big 4, mid-tier accounting firms, or large corporate tax functions
• Proven expertise in corporate income tax compliance, tax effect accounting, and financial reporting
• Experienced in tax advisory work, including mergers and acquisitions; knowledge of transfer pricing is highly valued
• Advanced skills in Excel with the ability to handle and analyze large data sets
• Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and solutions-focused with the ability to manage multiple priorities
