Our Insights and Data team helps our clients make better business decisions by transforming an ocean of data into streams of insight. Due to continued growth within Capgemini's Insights & Data practice, we intend to recruit a BI Engineer with relevant consulting and communication skills. As a GCP Data Architect, you’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data solutions that are scalable, secure, and optimized for performance. Your work will focus on data warehouses, data lakes, and data pipelines while collaborating closely with various stakeholders to meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable data warehouses and data lakes on GCP using tools like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Fusion, Cloud Composer, and DBT.
- Lead the migration and testing of BigQuery projects to new projects, ensuring seamless data flow.
- Convert DBT & Cloud Composer workflows to Dataforms, optimizing data orchestration and automation.
- Configure Cloud PubSub for data flow management and ensure efficient data distribution.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and distribution of data from multiple sources.
- Enforce data governance policies, maintain data quality standards, and implement data security protocols.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and build efficient, scalable data models.
- Stay current with data architecture trends and best practices within the GCP ecosystem.
- Mentor junior data team members on data architecture principles and GCP services.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions on GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Data Fusion, Cloud Composer).
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, data modeling techniques, and ETL/ELT processes.
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer and Cloud Architect Certifications are a plus.
- Expertise in SQL and experience with at least one programming language like Python or Java.
- Knowledge of data governance and data security best practices.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools like Looker or Tableau is a plus.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
