About the Job:
Wavemaker Impact & Beanstalk Join Forces to Build New Climate Tech Venture
Wavemaker Impact (WMI) believes entrepreneurs play a critical role in creating solutions to climate change and are on a mission to launch climate tech ventures that can transform the ANZ region. As a dedicated sustainability fund under Wavemaker, WMI co-found cutting-edge climate tech businesses across APAC, aiming to reduce 10% of the global carbon budget by building high-growth startups.
Led by seasoned entrepreneurs, investors and venture builders, Wavemaker Impact has identified over 50 opportunity spaces for “100 x 100” companies—ventures with the potential to generate $100 million in annual revenue while abating 100 million tons of carbon at scale. WMI partners with proven founders to ideate, validate, and launch these transformative businesses.
Joining forces with Beanstalk, a global leader in agritech advisory and venture building, this partnership is set to supercharge innovation in sustainable agriculture. Beanstalk’s track record includes over 150 projects, catalysing more than $200 million in the agrifood sector and embedding startup technologies into global food systems. Together, Wavemaker Impact and Beanstalk will drive precision and pace in delivering scalable climate tech solutions in the agriculture sector.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the Wavemaker Impact and Beanstalk team to test opportunities that have the potential to be 100 x 100 companies over the next 3-6 month period
- Identify the target customer segment and conduct customer discovery to uncover pain points, barriers to adoption and value drivers
- Develop a business model with a strong value proposition for the target customer segment
- Prototype and test the business model and solution, ideally securing your first pilot customers during this process
- Develop a business case/pitch, defining the venture roadmap and execution plan
- Identify and manage risks critical to the venture’s success
- Lead the growth of the startup post investment and once seed capital has been invested
- Hybrid opportunity, must be based in Australia

Requirements
Who You Are:
- Proven founder with early-stage C-level or founder-level experience (tech or non-tech)
- Previous startup experience, raised capital for a previous startup venture preferred
- Passion for sustainability and motivated to make a real impact on climate change
- Enjoys the zero-to-one phase, including customer discovery, business model and product development and forming team
- Focus on customer and execution, willingness to test and learn
- A strong communicator with stakeholder management skills
- Ability to work successfully within small, unstructured teams
- Self-initiative and an ability to work independently
