The McGrath Foundation raises money to place McGrath Breast Care Nurses wherever they're needed around Australia.

McGrath Breast Care Nurses help individual and their families affected by breast cancer by providing invaluable physical, psychological and emotional support, from the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment.

The support of McGrath Breast Care Nurse is available right across Australia - for free.

We raise money to fund McGrath Breast Care Nurses in communities right across Australia and invest in their professional development to ensure people with breast cancer receive the highest standard of care. We currently have 233 McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who help individuals and their families experiencing breast cancer by offering medical expertise, clinical care and psychosocial support, for free.
From the time of diagnosis and throughout treatment, our highly-qualified nurses are there to help. While over 143, 000 families have been supported since 2005, more nurses are needed to meet the growing rate of breast cancer diagnosis in Australia. We are proud to have nurses right across Australia including many regional and rural centres, where breast cancer treatment and support may be harder to reach.
The McGrath Foundation has become one Australia’s most recognised and respected charities since Jane and Glenn McGrath’s very public experience with breast cancer. When Jane was diagnosed with cancer for a second time, she had the support of a breast care nurse, who both empowered and comforted her, and her family. This experience set the mission for the Foundation, which has become an enduring commitment: to ensure every family experiencing breast cancer has the support of a Breast Care Nurse, no matter where they live – for free. We rely on the heartfelt support we receive from individuals, communities, corporate partners and government to continue providing and growing our nurse support across the country and increase breast health understanding.

Our purpose is to ensure that no one goes through cancer without the care of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.

We raise money to fund McGrath Cancer Care Nurses right across Australia and deliver world leading cancer nursing services to support people and their families through cancer.

McGrath Cancer Care Nurses provide clinical, psychosocial and emotional support to people with any type of cancer throughout their treatment. Our nursing care is completely free. You don’t even need a referral

It started with care twenty years ago. A one of a kind relationship changed cancer care in Australia forever. Jane McGrath, wife of Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath was supported by a breast care nurse as she went through treatment.
“My breast cancer nurse allowed me to be Jane McGrath – the friend, the mother and the wife – not just the breast cancer patient. ”
It sparked an idea. A vision. Jane and Glenn set out to make sure every family experiencing breast cancer had the support of a breast care nurse. No matter where they live, for free. And so, the McGrath Foundation came to be.
In our twenty years, we’ve supported over 150, 000 families. And with the help of our passionate donors, fundraisers and fans, turned whole towns, products and stadiums pink.
Together, we’ve achieved so much for so many. And through it all gained a lifetime of knowledge. We’ve become experts in care. In 2020, we launched the McGrath Model of Care, a framework for the delivery of best practice supportive care nursing.
Now, the proven positive impact of the way we care has led us to a new vision. One that’s bigger than we could’ve ever imagined.
We’re taking our care to all cancers. It’ll take more funding, more training and more support. It’ll take all of us. And we’re up for the challenge. Are you with us?
