Job Design Lead - Tier 2 Builder (Pre-Construction), Sydney

Our client are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Design Manager / Design Lead to join their growing and successful business.

Ideal sector experience: Education, Data Centre, Health & Commercial.

This role would suit an experienced Architect who is looking to transition into Construction.

Responsibilities:

• Design Lead – Pre-construction and Standards: This is a 2ic leadership role which provides support to Head of Design and has overall responsibility for the management of pre-construction tenders, Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) design management across all sectors and partnering with the Design Director to embed front-end buildability design innovation and minimum design standards.
• With significant Design leadership expertise across a range of sectors, this role requires a creative problem-solving mindset and collaborative, client focused interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, identify and prioritise key outcomes in a pressured environment.
• Summary of key responsibilities and duties:
• Leading design management of pre-construction and tender submissions
• Leading ECI design management, design thinking and stakeholder management
• Leading the development and maintenance of design standardisation through development of company standards, systems and processes
• Leading the coordination of ESG/ESD, services and digital engineering input in pre-construction phase
• Technical design management guidance as required
• Contribute to business planning objectives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
• 8 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
• Experience working on largescale construction projects from $80m upwards
• Experience of pre-construction design
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
• Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
• Familiarity with building codes and standards
