Product Manager - Freight Forwarding Domain Expert | Supply Chain
We're partnering with a fast-growing supply chain technology business building connected, intelligent freight solutions that make global logistics more visible, efficient, and scalable.
This is not a traditional SaaS Product Manager role. It's designed for someone who has worked inside freight forwarding operations and understands how shipments really move — from booking through to final delivery — and now wants to shape the technology that powers it.
The Opportunity
You'll sit at the intersection of freight operations and product engineering, translating real-world forwarding workflows into scalable product solutions.
You'll own your product backlog within a defined domain, working closely with engineers, customers, and internal stakeholders to deliver meaningful platform capability improvements. This includes writing epics and user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and ensuring operational reality is reflected in the product design.
Most importantly, you'll bring deep freight domain knowledge into product discussions — helping shape decisions around workflow design, system behaviour, and platform evolution.
What You'll Be Doing
- Translate end-to-end freight forwarding workflows into clear product requirements
- Own and manage a defined product backlog domain
- Work closely with engineering teams on APIs, integrations, and platform workflows
- Partner with operations and customers to identify pain points and design improvements
- Define epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria grounded in operational reality
- Contribute to product strategy discussions with strong freight domain insight
- 7-10+ years' experience in freight forwarding or supply chain operations
- Strong understanding of end-to-end shipment lifecycle (booking through delivery)
- Experience across customs, compliance, documentation, quoting, and exception management
- Familiarity with global trade lanes (AU, SEA, China, US, EU) and operational differences
- Exposure to workflow design, SOP ownership, or process improvement initiatives
- Technically literate and comfortable working with engineers on APIs, integrations, and system workflows
- Background in operations, customer service, pricing, customs, implementation, or supply chain transformation roles, with progression into product or systems-focused work
- Join a business genuinely modernising one of the world's most complex industries
- Work on technology used across global supply chains
- Collaborate with a tight-knit, logistics-obsessed APAC team
- Hybrid Sydney CBD office (4 days in office) with strong in-person collaboration
- A culture built around growth, ownership, and enjoying the work you do
Be a good person | Do better today than yesterday | Find the joy in what you do!
If you've spent years inside freight forwarding and wants to turn that expertise into product impact, this is a rare opportunity to spent directly into a role where your operational knowledge becomes the product advantage.
