Job Data Management Analyst, Sydney

About the Role

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you'll contribute directly to data quality initiatives, critical data element identification, and data analysis activities across the business.
The role sits within a collaborative data team supporting both BAU and project-driven work, with a strong emphasis on getting someone up to speed quickly and adding value from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and define Critical Data Elements (CDEs) across key business processes
• Perform data analysis using SQL to support data quality initiatives
• Develop and implement data quality rules and validation checks
• Analyse and ensure data consistency across multiple datasets
• Support data cataloguing and metadata activities (definitions, ownership, classification)
• Collaborate with stakeholders across business and technology teams

What We're Looking For

• Strong SQL / data analytics skills (essential)
• Experience working with data quality, validation, or data integrity processes
• Background in data analysis, reporting, or data-focused roles
• Exposure to data governance, metadata, or cataloguing concepts
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with data quality tools or frameworks
• Exposure to regulated environments (banking, insurance, government)
• Understanding of data governance principles or CDE frameworks
