Our client is now seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our busy kitchen team in Sydney.
About the Role
You will play a key role in delivering consistently high-quality meals while working in a high-energy environment. This is a hands-on role suited for someone with a passion for culinary excellence, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive under pressure.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and plate dishes according to the menu and standards
- Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team on prep, service, and new menu items
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering and stock rotation
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards
- Contribute to a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment
- Support and train junior kitchen staff when required
- Work efficiently during peak service times, maintaining calm and focus
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably in a bistro or fine dining setting
- Ability to work under pressure and as part of a close-knit team
- Strong communication, time management, and kitchen organisation skills
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays
